Born on 21st October 1581 AD, the arrival of Shri Devchandra Ji is precise, nor an hour more or less (just exactly as it is promised in the Quran)! In fact, Shri Devchandra Ji is the anticipated reformer of Islam set to arrive in a millennium after Rasul Mohammad. In addition, he has been also referred to as “alf-e-saanii” in Arabic, meaning – reformer of the millennium ...
(Welcome to Sanandhonline!)
[Note: For the sake of giving my utmost respect, ‘Shree Devchandra Ji’ is mentioned for ‘Devchandra Mehta’ in this article as it is a rich tradition in Indian culture to not call someone directly by his/her own name, especially elderly and those deserving utmost respect.]
In this article, I will try my best to present the birth date of Shri Devchandra Ji in a logical way as per the accounts of holy Beetak Sahib and the holy Quran as well. So, let's begin with a question itself.
Question : Why is it even essential to know about the life of Shri Devchandra Ji to begin with?
Let’s begin with the 13th verse of the second chapter of holy Beetak Sahib that provides background of the coming of Shree Devchandra Ji and also the answer to our question.

Explanations
unbounded once heard
Plenty of tales within the day third
However of the fourth day
Attention is all believers must pay
- Holy Beetak Sahib (2/13)
Meaning
The explanations of tales (or happenings) in the life of prophet Mohammad (or the third day) are beyond words and often unbounded (or without approximations). This is because stories in the life of the messenger give some messages (or directions) to humanity. That’s how we can sum up the third day of the Lord in few words.
However, the happenings within the fourth day of the Lord comes up chronologically after the third day. The fourth day of the Lord is in fact the life of Shri Devchandra Ji himself. Therefore, it is vital for the believers to closely pay attention to the life events of Shri Devchandra Ji. This is because the comprehension of those events will deliver divine guidance to all of us in every way.
Hence, from 2/13 onwards, it begins the happenings in the life of Shri Devchandra Ji. Now there is another question that we need to comprehend -
Question : At what century of the Islamic calendar did Shri Devchandra Ji come and when exactly did the fourth day of the Lord begin?
Let’s move onto 2/14 now to find out the answer.

Nine centuries after
Mohammaed Saheb deceased when
Nine and a quarter of a year remained
In the glorious century of ten
- Holy Beetak Sahib (2/14)
In the holy Beetak Sahib 2/14, Mahamati takes us to the time that is 900 years after the demise of the prophet of Allah – that is in the tenth century. As the arrival of Isa Ruh Allah had taken place in the tenth century of Rasul Mohammad, it has been labelled as glorious as well.
In fact, Shri
Devchandra Ji had arrived when nine years and three months (a quarter of a
year) had remained in the tenth century. In other words, Shri Devchandra Ji
had arrived after 900 years (or nine centuries) after Rasul Mohammad had gone behind
the veil (or after his demise) but still when nine years and three months had yet remained in the glorious tenth century.
Mathematically, 999th year is the final year belonging to the 10th century. So, subtracting 9 years and three months (3/12th = 1/4th of a year = 0.25) would result -
that is, 999 - (9 + 0.25) = 989.75 years
= [0.75 (3/4th = 9/12th of a year) + 989] years
= the end of 9th month of the 990th year.
[Note : The century will always be one more than the written year. For example - 2000 is not the 20th century but the 21st; 1000 is the 11th century and so on]
To answer that, let’s begin with the verse 15 of the second chapter of holy Beetak Sahib that vividly introduces the coming of Shree Devchandra Ji –

Nine hundred ninetieth year, and month nine
When conceded in Rasul's calendar, comes the time
Ruhallah and Misal Gazis, precisely that's when
Known as momin, descend in clusters after then
- (Holy Beetak Sahib 2/15)
Analyzing birth date from the first half of the quadruple:
Shree Devchandra Ji was born in the year 1638 Samvaat (or 1581 AD). This timeline also overlaps with the Islamic calendar system; so, when the ninth month of the 990th year of Hajrat Rasul Mohammad’s period (peace be upon him) would have come to an end, the exact date would become 1638 Samvaat (1581 AD). The coming of Shree Devchandra Ji is backed in the holy Quran as follows:
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?". Say, "For you is the appointment of a Day [when] you will not remain thereafter an hour, nor will you precede [it]." - Quran 34:29-30
The arrival of Shri Devchandra Ji is hence precise, nor an hour more or less (just exactly as it is promised in the Quran)! In fact, Shri Devchandra Ji is the anticipated reformer of Islam set to arrive in a millennium after Rasul Mohammad. In addition, he has been also referred to as “alf-e-saanii” in Arabic, meaning – reformer of the millennium.
Please do recall the fact that according to 22:47 of the holy Quran, a day of Allah is equivalent to 1000 years of the world.
And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allah will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count.
In short, when 1000 years of the world would have passed (after the revelation of the verse 22:47), equivalently ninth month of the 990th year of Islamic calendar would have ended and only a quarter of that year would have remained. That consequently is the birth date of Isa Rulallah (Shree Devchandra Ji) which was also eminent from the holy Quran.
[Note: Ninth month in Islamic calendar is the month of Ramadan where an entire month is solely dedicated to fasting and praying and whose closure is then marked by the coming of Eid al-Fitr]
Let's move onto next question now.
Question: How had Isa Ruhallah arrived? Did he just descend alone?
In the second half of the verse from Beetak Sahib 2/15, the following question
has been answered:
“How had Isa Ruhallah arrived? Did he just descend alone?”
Analyzing birth date from the second half of the quadruple:
From the abode (or Arsh - heaven) of Allah, the spirit of Ruhallah descended into Earth upon the mortal body that went by the name of Shri Devchandra Ji provided by Hindu tradition of that time. Shri Devchandra Ji (or Isa Ruhallah), however, had not arrived alone. The head of the spirits came along with other fellow companion spirits. This is also backed by the holy Quran in 97:4 -
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
The reason for them descending (for every matter) requires many more chapters with detailed description which I would not like to discuss here. Nevertheless, the spirit of Isa Ruhallah came into this world taking mortal body and so did the other spirits of Allah’s abode.
Question : Who are the real Misal Gazis and when does the night of power start?
Ruhallah and Misal Gazis, precisely that's when
Known as momin, descend in clusters after then
Mahamati has poetically
portrayed such spirits (or believer Momin) as “Misal Gazis”. Few
radical Islamists during Mughal reign in India used to call themselves as Gazi
that literally meant – “murderers of disbelievers”.
However, in holy Beetak Sahib 2/15, Mahamati has used the term “Gazi”
poetically to describe those believers who will give up (or kill) their worldly
desires in the path to pursue their Lord.
Worldly people often regard or declare themselves as Momin of Allah. However, it is to be noted that these Momins have descended directly from the abode of Allah and worldly people cannot be compared to them spiritually. I mean – is there anyone here reading this article who can claim that their spirit has descended directly from Allah’s abode? If yes then this article is especially for you!
Hence, the arrival of Shri Devchandra Ji (Isa Ruhallah) along with the spirit Momins also mark the beginning of Lail-tul-Qadr (the night of power) in this world. It is also to be noted that the spirits of Lail-tul-Qadr have descended amongst the Hindus in majority, and in small clusters often divided by nation, caste, cultures, traditions, languages and socioeconomic status and so on. Hence, the ultimate goal of Shri Devchandra (the head of the spirits) is to unite them all in one place, under the sole umbrella of the revived Islam (which is later termed by the name of Nijanand Sampradaya) and finally return them all back to their abode in the presence of Allah.
Again, we have another question to settle here -
Question : Is the birth date/location of Shri Devchandra Ji mentioned as per Hindu/Vedic tradition?
Now, to answer that, I’m further analyzing the birth date/location of Shri Devchandra Ji as mentioned in the holy Beetak Sahib. So, let’s move onto explaining and examining the verse 2/16 and 2/17 of the holy Beetak Sahib.
On the fourteenth of Sukla Ashvin
Samvat sixteen hundred thirty-eight within
Was Shri Devchandra Ji sent
In Marwad as the country of advent
- Holy Beetak Sahib (2/16)
Precisely within Umarkot village
Incarnated in Mattu Mehta’s house
Let me further reveal mother Kunwarbai
Who is Mattu Mehta’s spouse
- Holy Beetak Sahib (2/17)
Meaning:
Shri Devchandra Ji
was born (sent/incarnated) in the year 1638 Vikram Samvat (a
traditional Indian calendar system) in the Vedic lunar month of Ashvin
on the fourteenth day of the waxing-moon in the nation of Marwad of
the undivided India (which currently lies in the Sindh province of
Pakistan) in a village named Umarkot at the house of Mattu Mehta
(to be precise). While the name of his mother is Kunwarbai.
Furthermore, he was born in Brahmin family within the Hindu caste system which naturally made it easier for him to have access to Gurus (during his time) and religious knowledge as well. Let's move onto another question now.
Question : Is there any astrological tool that we can use to verify or validate his coming?
Well, I have used an online
astrological service (click here) to trace and verify the exact same date in the Gregorian calendar
system. Here’s the screenshot of the date conversion:
As you can clearly see, the day of Shri Devchandra Ji’s birth turns out to be Wednesday 21st October 1581. The exact birth time is not mentioned in the holy book of revelations of Beetak Sahib. However, looking further at the astrological charts, it can be confirmed that he was born before 02:08 PM local time during that day (also possible before the sunrise or dawn in accordance with the local time zone).
Furthermore, I have also converted the corresponding Gregorian date into Islamic date using another date conversion service which is available online for free (click here for the reference). Here is the screenshot of the results I got:
In the date conversion shown above, there is an error of three days as the day should be Wednesday instead of Saturday. Even if we adjust the day from Saturday to Wednesday by adding 4 days, then we would still get 27th day of the month of Ramadan, which is also auspicious as per the Islamic culture. However, from the revelations of holy Beetak Sahib, it is clear that the birth date should be marked by the closure of Ramadan and the coming of Eid al-Fitr. Nevertheless, it's an error forewarned in the conversion tool, hence no comments from my side.
It can therefore be seen that Shri Devchandri Ji was brought down to this world by the Almighty on Eid al-Fitr as per our analysis. Amazing, isn't it?
[Wikipedia : For Muslim communities all over the world; Laylat al-Qadr is found to be on the last 5 odd nights of Ramadan (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th)]
Furthermore, lets tackle another question here.
Question : Why is there error in the date conversion?
Now for those of you questioning, why is there error in day in the date conversion? I might have some possible reasons to justify the discrepancy in date here since the revelations of Mahamati
could never be ruled out as it is the ultimate word of the almighty himself -
"Islamic calendar, is a lunar calendar consisting of 12 lunar months in a year of 354 or 355 days. Traditionally, this is based on actual observation of the moon's crescent marking the end of the previous lunar cycle and hence the previous month, thereby beginning the new month. Consequently, each month can have 29 or 30 days depending on the visibility of the moon, astronomical positioning of the earth and weather conditions" - Wikipedia
Those reasons clearly accounted for the minor error seen in the calculation above. Nevertheless, the margin of error isn't bigger enough to be considered extremely malicious. Primarily, Shri Devchandra Ji had arrived in the tenth century of the Islamic calendar as promised and personally I think that is what matters the most here.
It is to be noted that due to extremely higher accuracy of Vedic astrology, I went converting the birth date of Shri Devchandra Ji from Vedic date onto Gregorian date and finally to Islamic date and not the other way around in this article.
Question : So, what happened after Shri
Devchandra Ji came from the spiritual world to this material world? What’s
so significant about this?
The answer to that question is given in the next verse
(2/18) of the holy Beetak Sahib. So, let’s move on to it.
Nearest Quadruple translation
Born in Marwad when
Household man woman delighted then
For whole universe belongs this congratulations
Including trinity is the unbounded celebrations
- Holy Beetak Sahib (2/18)
Meaning:
When Shri Devchandra Ji was born in Marwad, people in his household (every man or woman) were delighted and people congratulated each other with great celebrations. However, those congratulations are not solely limited to the family and relatives of Shri Devchandra Ji. The entire universe deserved congratulations actually. In fact, the congratulations and unbounded celebrations also reached to the trinity themselves, that is - Bhrama (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver) and Shiva (the destroyer) who were also anticipating the arrival of the ultimate creator's (or the Supreme God's) head spirit.
The same trinity were also awaiting salvation to higher dimension from the hands of Shri Devchandra ji which they will receive along with the entire world later (which is an entirely different topic which I shall not discuss here). Therefore, that alone should provide the significance of his arrival.
Question : Finally, why do we still find different birth date of Shri Devchandra Ji on the internet?
On another note, I have
found few sources on the internet saying that Shri Devchandra Ji was born
on the 11th of October 1581. However just to clarify on this one - with the same Vedic astrological tool that I used earlier, it could be seen that the date 11 Oct 1581 belonging to Julian calendar is the same date - 21 Oct 1581 of the Gregorian calendar. In short, its same date in different calendar systems.
Furthermore, it could also be seen that, Shri Devchandra Ji had arrived in the 4682nd year of the Kaliyuga.
